Happy Valentine's Day! This is my yearly valentine for my favorite lover and adventure buddy, Ian Rowswell. The man that seduced me by reading through my art history text with me while I embroidered meat. Wow. Very Love. Amaze.
More work on my mystery project. This plastic bowl will become a cunning hat.
I'm going to be teaching classes at the Warrensburg Community Center in a couple of weeks. Be sure to call and register. My Beginners Sewing Machine class will be Saturday, February 20th from 1-3pm. We will be covering all your sewing machine basics, including getting correct tension and minor maintenance while creating a set of coaster. Sewing machines are just like power tools, they can be a little intimidating if you haven't used one since high school. So come on by and get a refresher course. From 10-12pm on Saturday, February 20th I'll also be teaching Beginners Knitting. So if Youtube videos just don't cut it and you are confused about what to buy come to the class and you'll be provided with a pattern for a simple scarf and materials that are good quality and easy to work with. We'll be learning the two basic stitches of knitting and learning to read a pattern. With this you should be able to easily go on to other projects.
Reading: The Explorers Guild Volume One by Jon Baid and Kevin Costner. I can't put it down and I really can't help myself from dreaming about being an explorer and general badass at the turn of the 20th century.
Listening to: Ah, the power of popular music from middle and high school
Cooking: Butter mochi for my daughter's preschools Valentine's day party! So delicious.
